Make your pledge, Earth Changers!

Walking across the shores of the beach,

I spotted the flow of nature,

to see the sun mellowing down from yellow to orange,

to touch the winds moving from east to west,

to feel the tides of water ebbing from the sand,

to realize that nature has been running on their schedule,

except when we humans run across their schedule!

Our wanderlust goals to drive into the nature is exciting,

our drive to dip the feet in the pristine waters is amazing,

but our drive into the nature without plastics will be more exciting;

when we will, we shall find our acceptance into nature.

We trade to make our journey into nature,

but have we traded enough to protect nature?

We compensate with the extra working hours to travel,

but did we make the extra hours to tend to nature?

We promote our wanderlust culture,

but did we yet embrace the culture to defend nature?

Anthems about nature are many,

protests for nature shall be many more.

Before I turn into another speck of dust,

I pledge to dust off my habit of carrying plastics,

wear the new habit of reusables & recyclables.

What will be your new pledge for nature?
